This past year Happen's Toy Lab reached a new milestone by building 1,350 toys, our most ever in one year. At Toy Lab we love to share how old and broken toy parts combined with an inventive imagination can create amazing and unique toys that are unlike anything else in the world. It's what we like to call 'upcycling' and it's at the center of what Happen's Toy Lab is all about. It's amazing for us to look back at 2016 and think about all of the creative kids (and adults) who got a first hand lesson in upcycling by building a toy with us at Toy Lab. We owe a huge 'thanks' to everyone who hosted a party at Toy Lab, brought their summer camp to Toy Lab, or just stopped by on the weekend to build a toy. We also, have to recognize our friends at Washington Park who brought our mobile Toy Lab to their Curiosity Saturday events for the third summer in a row. And last we want to thank everyone who donated toy parts, including sending them from as far away as Alaska, we couldn't have done it with out you.
We looking forward to much more toy building in 2017 including building our 15,000th toy. Another huge Toy Lab milestone. We hope to see you at Happen's Toy Lab this year.
