Second Empire
The Second Empire architectural style became the most dominant of Victorian homes with a mix of ornamental influences that included a very special type of roof called the "mansard roof". It’s also called a French Roof because it was French inspired of course, but I think the best description is that it is a curved roof. Most mansard type houses have several dormers built into them with a decorated cornice line below the roof. The second empire influenced homes on the tour have a mansard influenced roof without the curve but they do have a least one front facing dormer. How many Second Empire homes can you find?
